More Details in Nikon Lens Glossary

The Nikon Nikkor DX 18-200mm Zoom lens has a large range, equivalent to a 27-300 lens in a 35mm format. With this wide of a range, one would suspect distortion, or major fall off at some point in the range. But this lens somehow as accomplished this wide range without any major distortion or major fall off. Could this be the lens, the One Lens to Rule them all? Its certainly close, giving you sharpness from 18 to 200mm.

The Nikon 18-200mm DX Zoom Lens could be the perfect lens because:

  • You can lighten your bag. Why carry 4-5 lenses when this can replace them.
  • You don’t have to carry a tripod with you everywhere, well maybe in the car for night shots
  • You wont have to change your lens as much because of the large range
  • Great for close ups and wide angles.
  • Get close to your subject, With focusing as close as 20 in. from the subject
  • Vibration Reduction - offers the equivalent of using a shutter speed 4 stops faster

With an average selling price of $750.00, a little more expensive then your typical consumer lens, but about half as much as a pro lens, this lens will easily replace having to buy 4 or 5 lenses to cover the same range. This lens is in high demand and can be hard to find, I’ve heard of people buying it and waiting for 3 month to get it, but it is worth the wait.

WHERE’S THE MEAT??? err review? I’m under the opinion that reviews require the reviewer to actually have touched the product being reviewed. Copying the specs from the manufacture web site is not a REVIEW
