AF-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8 Micro Lens
I bought the Nikon AF-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8 Micro Lens. I’ve been really impressed with the sharpness of the lens. I bought it specifically for a photo shoot, but I knew I’d get the added bonus of having a Micro Lens in my collection.

Handling

The lens has a good weight to it, I like a lens with a little weight but not to much. It doesn’t feel cheap. The focusing ring is a little stiff, but when focusing on things close up I find that’s advantageous because I want it to move slow. The M to AF is located right next to the focus ring, and at first felt out of place, but I like it close to the focus ring for a quick switch to Manual focus if needed on Macro shots. There is a Limit and Full for focusing, which is helpful when shooting in Macro or Shooting Non-Macro shots, You can flip it to Limit and it’ll limit how much focusing range you have to work with. If you are on the infinity focus and you switch to Limit the focus range will be limited from Infinity to 1 ft. If you have it switch while in micro focusing range it will limit it from 10″ - 8 3/4″. I find that the AF can search a little while trying to focus, but mainly when in up close photos. I would say that that is expected, but I did find it searching on some low light situations.

Overall it a nice sharp lens, and I would recommend it to any one looking for a Macro Lens under $500 price range.
